Council Membership Forms

Each representing a different sector of society, the Microcredit Summit Councils are a forum for similar organizations to support one another in developing and implementing Institutional Action Plans for contributing to the Summit's goals.

Council Member institutions commit to educating their staffs, their members, and their communities about microcredit and the Summit's goals. They work to enlist others in the campaign to meet the Summit's goals. Council Member institutions promote a learning agenda and the exchange of best practices among Council members. Most importantly, Council Members institutions agree to prepare an action plan outlining their institution's contribution to the fulfillment of the Summit's goals.

Council Membership Forms are listed below in order of council size, from largest number of members to smallest. To join a Microcredit Summit Council, please fill out the appropriate Council Membership Form below:

Please Note:

1 The Microcredit Summit Organizing Committee has defined a practitioner organization as any organization involved in administering microcredit or providing training to organizations who administer microcredit.

2 Non-Governmental Organizations that are not currently involved in microcredit but that are involved in delivering social services in the field (i.e. literacy, health, family planning, agriculture) are encouraged to join the Microcredit Summit Council of NGOs.

3 Organizations which do not deliver social services in the field but are involved in education, advocacy, fundraising, policy development, or research are invited to join the Microcredit Council of Advocates.
